Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre Nepal (KAT), a non-profit established in 2004 by Jan Salter, raises awareness concerning the inhumane treatment of Nepalese Street Dogs. KAT's main mission is to help street animals of Nepal live better, by providing a combination of love for animals and the help they need.

Their primary purpose is humane Animal Birth Control (ABC) to reduce the street dog population. They also provide education, awareness, medical treatments, and conduct various animal welfare camps including rabies vaccination and prevention.
